The Zero Draft of the Habitat III outcome document, drawn up by the Preparatory Committee has been launched. The New Urban Agenda aims to be a concise, action-oriented, forward-looking, and universal framework of actions for housing and sustainable urban development.

The battle for sustainable development it is already ongoing and it will be won or lost in cities. By 2050, the urban population alone will be larger than the current total world population, posing massive sustainability challenges in terms of housing, infrastructure, basic services, and jobs among others. So it is crucial to develop, spread and foster a sustainable way where cities and human settlements are planned, developed, governed and managed.

Mayors and regional leaders will share views on New Urban Agenda in New York next week and it will be broadcast live on web. You are also invited to leave your feedback on the Zero Draft.
